Properties Required for Good laggings fabric- The fabric should be stretched repeatedly, and will return almost exactly back to original size and shape. 4 way stretch. Fabrics that only stretch 2 ways will not be comfortable for such a close fitting garment At least some lycra, spandex or elastane content – these fibers help with recovery, so the fabric doesn’t stretch out and sag after wear The fabric should be light weight, soft and smooth. Thick enough not to be see-through when stretched. The fabric should have resistant to abrasion and the deleterious effects of body oils, perspiration, and detergents. The fabric should be compatible with other materials, and can be spun with other types of fibers to produce unique fabrics, which have characteristics of both fibers. All the above properties provide by a least percentage of Spandex (Also known as lycra laggings and elastane laggings) for making Good laggings fabrics.
